– About the title: "Baltxploitation" –
contributed by Raimundas Malasauskas (Vilnius)
„The Baltic as a psycho-geographical term is a phenomenon in its lack of direction and definition. This incoherence can apply to politics, economics, infrastructure and mentalities. You can and can’t be Baltic simultaneously, but also you can be more or less Baltic ...“(Valentinas Klimasauskas), ULTIMIERE Press Release No. 3, September 11, 2005.

– About the screening of CAC TV episodes –
CAC TV episode: „Monuments“, 25 min. (2005)
This program is made in the summer of 2005 in Vilnius together with Julieta
Aranda, an artist from NY. It is a trip of discovering and discussing
monuments to various pop stars, like Iggy Pop, Christina Aguilera etc.
Inspired by a monument to Frank Zappa that was actually build in Vilnius in the 90s.
/
CAC TV episode: „Yearfilm“, 25 min. (2005)
The So-Called Records' "Yearfilm" was first made for an exhibition in NY in
2001 exploring the legacy of Fluxus (thus the genre of Yearfilm, as a
Yearboxes). The original footage is taken from the cinema-journals "Tarybu Lietuva" (Soviet Lithuania) from the 60s and 70s, stored in the Lithuanian Cinema Archive, with an intention to trace the joyous and playful in a heavily ideology-driven discourse.
In 2005, the film was remixed by Aurelija Maknyte for the broadcast on CAC TV (originally introduced by Jim Spears from the New Zealand branch of the So-Called Records). In 2006 the writer Aleksandra Fomina produced a "translation" to of this remix to English using lyrics of Laurie Anderson,
Pink Floyd and Radiohead.
