Artist Talk/ Screening/ Performance with and by Liudmila Kartoshkina
Physical-, sensual-, emotional- and intellectual perception are fundamental parameters for any work of art. How to combine different perceptive mechanisms within one art experience is hence a main methodological question. The talk will be dedicated to the concerns of spatial perception, and the possibilities for manipulation and freeing.
The presentation will be supported by a one evening installation of 'Ad memoriam', the artist’s most recent video piece. 'Ad memoriam' is a site-specific digital art work that plays with the idea of time reversal by projecting memory onto an utopian landscape. The installation will be accompanied by a live experimental music performance.
Liudmila Kartoshkina is preparing her master’s degree at the Finnish Academy of Fine Arts, Helsinki and is currently studying at the Kunsthochschule Weißensee, Berlin.
