ORIGINALFASSUNG #66: Responsive Environment, Urban Dynamics << english version below >>   // Datum: Dienstag, den 6.1.2009 // Zeit: 20h30 // Eintritt frei     Jin Hidaka und Satoru Yamashiro sind Medien-Künstler aus Tokio und haben 1993  das Künstlerkollektiv ‘Responsive Environment’ gegründet; sie sind außerdem co-Gründer des ‘urban dynamics laboratory’, das sich mit urbanen Entwicklungen, ihrer Er-Forschung und urbanem Design beschäftigt.   Ihre Installationen und Performance-Aktivitäten basieren oft auf dem Gebrauch von (Projektions-) Licht und anderen ephemeren Materialien, die eine „Soft Architecture“ bilden – der Name ihrer Installation-Serie von räumlichem time based design. Die Arbeiten sind nicht nur in Theater- oder Galerieräumen zu sehen (wie in Tokyo, Graz oder Maribor), aber auch in ehemaligen Nutzgebäuden und öffentlichen Plätzen. Eines der letzten ortsspezifischen Projekte fand in der von Kenzo Tange gebauten Kathedrale in Toyko statt. (Foto)   Die Künstler unternehmen in Berlin eine Recherche-Reise um selbst-organisierte Kunst-Projekte und Aktivitäten im öffentlichen Raum kennen zu lernen und um Inspirationen für solche Projekte in Japan zu gewinnen. Their work is not only situated in theater and gallery spaces (e.g Tokyo, Graz or Maribor), but also in old factories and public spaces. One of their latest site specific works was held in the cathef´dral in Toyko, build by Kenzo Tange (photo).   Both artist are visiting to Berlin with a research interest in self-organized-spaces and public activities, from which they would like to learn about such bottom up style activities that they would encourage to happen in the near future also in Japan.
